About Me – Jo Parker, Driftwood and Daisies

Hi, I’m Jo, and I’ve been a florist since 1995. Today, my work is mainly about teaching floristry through my flower school—and I’m thrilled to also focus on creating beautiful, full-length double-ended coffin sprays, one special design for each life being honoured.

At Driftwood and Daisies, everything I create is personal and unique. I don’t follow catalogues or generic designs—each bouquet or tribute is carefully thought out, with flowers chosen for colour, texture, and meaning. I like to think of my coffin sprays as part of a farewell garden, a gentle, flowing tribute that truly reflects the life being remembered.

Teaching floristry has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work since 2001. I love helping people discover the joy of working with flowers—whether it’s a simple arrangement at home or something more advanced at one of my workshops.

My journey started back in Manchester, where a friend encouraged me to try an NVQ floristry course. From there, I trained, travelled, and worked in Australia and Holland before returning to the UK. In 2012, I launched Driftwood and Daisies, and it’s been a joy to build my flower school and create meaningful, heartfelt designs ever since.

It’s a privilege to share my passion for flowers, whether through teaching or helping you say goodbye with love and care.

Jo is a gifted and inspirational teacher who brings out the best in her pupils. It doesn't matter at what level you are working, everyone leaves with the feeling they have achieved - no mean feat as at our workshops there is a wide range of experience from a qualified florist to more or less beginners. I would warmly recommend a Driftwood and Daisies' workshop to any of my friends because I know they would have a very enjoyable experience.

Your website comes across as authentic & unique.  It shows a love for what you do as well as providing a belief than you will produce something with thought & care. T. Hall

I just wanted to thank you again for the beautiful flower tribute you created for my father's funeral last week. We wanted red roses and I looked at so many florists on the internet before I found yours. I cannot recommend you highly enough. It is such an emotional time for anyone to go through but you were so helpful and I just knew after speaking with you that you understood exactly what we wanted and that the flowers would be perfect. Jo, they truly were. Thank you. Judy Rothwell
